Thella Kaagitham Movie Review
A Relevant Message with an Uneven Second Half
Thella Kaagitham Movie Review: Harsh Roshan and debutant Nakshatra’s Thella Kaagitham is a Telugu teenage romantic drama directed by Ramesh Bandreddi. The film was released in theatres on October 2, 2026. It is set against a rural Andhra Pradesh backdrop and deals with teenage love, mistakes, family communication and the consequences of making important decisions at a young age.
The movie has received mixed reviews from critics. While the performances, lead-pair chemistry, music and social message have been appreciated, the screenplay and stretched second half have been identified as major drawbacks. Current published ratings include My Rating: ⭐ 2.5/5
Thella Kaagitham Story

The story revolves around Ramu (Harsh Roshan) and Aasha (Nakshatra), two teenagers who develop feelings for each other during their school days. Their innocent relationship gradually becomes more serious as they enter their teenage years.
Things take a dramatic turn when the youngsters make an impulsive decision that creates unexpected consequences. The film then focuses on how they deal with the situation and how their families respond.
The story is set around the Bhimavaram region and explores how teenagers can make mistakes because of a lack of maturity, communication and proper guidance.
The title Thella Kaagitham, meaning “blank paper,” connects with the film’s central idea that young people’s lives are like blank sheets and the decisions they make can leave lasting marks.
Performances
Harsh Roshan delivers a convincing performance as Ramu. After Court – State Vs. A Nobody, he once again plays a character suited to his age. His emotional scenes, innocence and confusion are among the stronger elements of the film.
Nakshatra, making her debut as the female lead, has good screen presence and shares decent chemistry with Harsh Roshan. Several reviews have particularly appreciated the lead pair’s performances and chemistry.
Ajay makes an impression in the role of Aasha’s father. The supporting cast, including Deepak, Saranya Pradeep, Rajkumar Kasireddy and Goparaju Ramana, contribute to the story.
First Half
The first half is one of the better portions of Thella Kaagitham. The youthful romance, comedy and innocent interactions between Ramu and Aasha give the film a pleasant start.
The chemistry between the lead actors helps the romantic portions work. Some comedy scenes also provide entertainment, while Vijay Bulganin’s music adds to the youthful atmosphere.
The interval point brings a major development that changes the direction of the story and creates expectations for a stronger second half.
Second Half
The major weakness of Thella Kaagitham is its second half.
Several critics felt that the film stretches a relatively simple storyline for too long. The narrative becomes slower and some situations feel repetitive or predictable. Telugu360 described the first half as engaging but felt that the second half was stretched, while TeluguBulletin also pointed to predictable developments and repetitive scenes.
The emotional impact that the film attempts to create does not always work because some important developments are not given enough depth. The climax does attempt to deliver a strong message, but the buildup could have been more effective.

Final Verdict
Thella Kaagitham has a relevant concept, good performances and a meaningful message about teenage decisions and communication between parents and children. Harsh Roshan and Nakshatra make the romantic portions watchable, while the music and first-half entertainment work in the film’s favour.
However, the movie loses momentum in the second half because of its stretched screenplay, predictable developments and insufficient emotional depth. The climax tries to leave the audience with a strong message, but the journey towards it is uneven.
Overall, Thella Kaagitham is a message-oriented teenage drama with some good moments, but its execution prevents it from becoming a consistently engaging emotional film.
