Don’t Trouble The Trouble Review

Fahadh Faasil’s Fantasy Drama Gets Mixed Response

Don’t Trouble The Trouble is a Telugu fantasy-comedy drama starring Fahadh Faasil and young actor Ssara Palekar in the lead roles. Directed by Shashank Yeleti, the film released in theatres on October 2, 2026. The movie generated considerable pre-release curiosity because it marks Fahadh Faasil’s first Telugu film as a solo lead and is presented by S. S. Rajamouli, with S. S. Karthikeya among the producers.

The film attempts to combine fantasy, comedy, emotion and adventure. However, the early theatrical reviews suggest that while the performances have been appreciated, the screenplay, pacing and second-half execution have divided critics.

Don’t Trouble The Trouble Story

Fahadh Faasil plays Suri, an orphan who survives by using small tricks and deceptions to make money. His problems increase when he gets into trouble with a powerful gangster and is given a short deadline to arrange a large amount of money.

During his attempt to solve this problem, Suri encounters Divya, played by Ssara Palekar. Divya is a mysterious young girl with supernatural abilities. She believes that Suri is a magician, while Suri initially sees her situation as an opportunity to make money.

As the story progresses, Suri discovers that Divya’s situation is much more complicated than he originally imagined. Her connection to her missing parents becomes an important part of the narrative, taking Suri into an unexpected fantasy adventure.

The basic premise gives the movie enough potential for comedy, emotion and fantasy. However, several reviewers felt that the screenplay does not consistently develop this premise into a compelling feature-length story.

Fahadh Faasil’s Performance

Fahadh Faasil is undoubtedly one of the major highlights of the film. This is his first Telugu movie as a solo lead, and he makes a genuine effort with the Telugu dialogues and character.

His natural acting style helps some scenes work better than they otherwise might. His chemistry with Ssara Palekar is also one of the positive aspects mentioned in reviews.

Ssara Palekar makes a good impression as Divya. Her character is central to the fantasy element, and she handles the emotional portions effectively.

However, critics have pointed out that the writing does not always provide Fahadh with enough strong material to make the character as engaging as it could have been.

Direction and Screenplay

Director Shashank Yeleti attempts to create a different type of Telugu fantasy entertainer. The idea of combining a struggling conman with a mysterious girl possessing supernatural abilities is interesting.

The main issue is execution. Several reviews have criticized the slow narration and predictable writing, particularly in the second half. The screenplay reportedly loses momentum in places, while some sequences feel stretched.

The Indian Express rated the movie 2/5 and noted that the central concept and Fahadh’s performance had potential but did not translate into a fully satisfying film. Cinema Express similarly criticized the weak writing and sluggish narration.

Technical Aspects

The film has decent production values, with cinematography by Brad Francis and editing by Praveen Anthony. Kaala Bhairava provides the music and background score.

The visual presentation supports the fantasy portions, while some sequences benefit from the Hyderabad locations and production design. However, critics have suggested that tighter editing could have improved the overall pace considerably.

Final Verdict

Don’t Trouble The Trouble has a promising fantasy premise and benefits significantly from the performances of Fahadh Faasil and Ssara Palekar. Fahadh’s Telugu debut as a solo lead is an interesting aspect of the movie, and the central relationship between Suri and Divya provides some engaging moments.

However, the film struggles to maintain momentum because of its uneven screenplay, slow narration and weaker second half. The current reviews suggest that the movie works in parts rather than as a consistently engaging fantasy entertainer.

For viewers who enjoy fantasy, emotional dramas and Fahadh Faasil’s performances, the movie may be worth considering. Those expecting a fast-paced commercial entertainer may find the pacing and writing disappointing.

Overall, Don’t Trouble The Trouble is an ambitious attempt with a good central idea, but its execution has resulted in a mixed theatrical response.
